On February 10, 2010 the management of Melia Benoa conducted a temple ceremony which was held on hotel temple. The ceremony aims to pray for Bethara Sri Sedana which is the personification of the Goddess of prosperity and welfare. The ceremony was involved by Hindu's hotel employee and some hotel guests who were interested to see and join the ritual.

As the authentication of the Sol Melia's commitment in operating at the highest environmental and social standards, Melia Benoa, with our three sister companies; Melia Bali, Melia Kuala Lumpur and Gran Melia Jakarta, received the prestigious environment award: The ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) Green Hotel Award, from the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard Committee. These honor are based on The ASEAN Green Hotel Standard which is valid for the years 2010 until 2011.

The ASEAN Green Hotel Standard is a benchmark to support Asean as a world-class quality destination and serves as a measure of the road map for the integration of the tourism sector to realize the ASEAN Community through the establishment of the ASEAN Tourism Standards. To qualify for the Green Hotel Awards, the hotel must be environmental friendly and adopt energy conservation measures based on 25 ASEAN Green Hotel requirements for environmentally friendly, energy conservation measures.

By this great achievement, we tremendously hoped that the second time award achievement will inspire other hotels to start their green initiatives as well.

On this opportunity hotel would like to express the appreciation for the support and cooperation in the previous year, and on this occasion also introduced a new Premium Room that has just been developed. This event was highlighted by the quiz, door prices and Gala Dinner with Cabaret Show performance and at the end of the agenda the hotel provided a special gift for participants.

On Wednesday 05 August 2009 that marked in the Balinese calendar as Wuku Shinta, Melia Benoa hotel together with the owning company, management, all staff and family celebrate the Balinese ceremony title “Full Moon Karo�. This celebration run once a year that consider as the Hotel's birthday base on the Balinese calendar. The 3 days ceremony involved all the Melia Benoa stake holder and run from the 4th - 6th of August 2009 which highlighted by mass prayer from all of the stake holder lead by the Balinese priest. The celebration is a gesture of thank you from everyone at Melia Benoa toward the universe which the Balinese belief as reason behind the present situation.

The Melia Benoa has recently received 5 Star certification issued by the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association. The certification assessment is depending on the size of the room, the services, the facilities, the amenities provided by a hotel and every hotel has to apply for a this certification. 

The application has to be sent with all details as required such as all drawings, plans, licenses, permits. The committee visits the Hotel on a short notice for the Inspection and verifies each and every details. They check the rooms, the restaurants, the kitchen, the cold storage, the garbage disposal system, the staff locker rooms, the staff toilets, the staff cafeteria, the service standards of the hotel, the grooming of the staff, etc. 

The certificate from Bali Regional Police was presented to Melia Benoa for the First Class Gold achievement in Five Stars Category as we are successful in compliance with the Hotel Security and Safety Standards verification. By having this skill, all employees especially those who have a direct contact to the guests are expectedly can implement the up selling effectively when they are in charge.
